EL SALVADOR: Honduras and El Salvador closer to customs union

El Salvador is moving to simplifying its customs procedures with its neighbours. It expects to clinch a deal with Honduras by the middle of this year. This deal is likely to be modelled on the deal with Guatemala that came into force in November 2004. Officials claim that crossing the border between Guatemala and El Salvador now takes five minutes for most people.
